                                        Terms & Conditions

We want every guest to enjoy a safe, clean, and loving stay at Hop & Hound. Please read the terms below carefully, as boarding your pet with us confirms your agreement.

Vaccinations (Rabbits Only)

All rabbits must be fully vaccinated against Myxomatosis, VHD1, and VHD2 before their stay.

  • Proof of up to date vaccinations must be presented at check in.

  • Vaccinations must be administered at least 14 days before boarding, to allow immunity to build and minimise side effects.

  • If both VHD1 and VHD2 vaccines are due at the same time, they must be given at least 14 days apart.

  • We also accept Nobivac Myxo-RHD PLUS, which covers all three in a single dose, please speak to your vet about this option.

Guinea pigs do not require vaccinations.

Check In / Check Out

All check ins and check outs are by appointment only,  we'll arrange your time slot in advance.

  • If you're running late, just let us know - we understand life happens!

  • Please avoid arriving early unless we've confirmed it's okay.

Payment

  • We accept bank transfer or cash.

  • A non refundable deposit is required to secure all bookings.

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full 7 days before check in day.

  • Bookings may be cancelled if payment has not been received by the due date.

  • Extra charges (e.g. extended stays or separated housing) are payable on collection.

Health Care

All pets must arrive healthy and free from illness or injury.

  • Please inform us of any existing medical conditions or specific care needs, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • During summer, we now routinely apply fly guard as a precaution. You're welcome to treat your pet before arrival instead, just let us know on your booking form.

If your pet becomes unwell during their stay:

  • We'll contact you (or your emergency contact) and take them to your regular vet where possible.

  • Any veterinary costs (consultations, treatment, transport, etc.) are the responsibility of the owner.

We strongly recommend that owners have their own pet insurance in place to help cover any unexpected costs that may arise during boarding.

While we take every care, Hop & Hound is not liable in the unlikely event your pet becomes unwell, injured, escapes, or passes away while in our care. All pets are boarded entirely at the owner’s risk.

We are also not liable for injury to owners or pets while on our premises.

Abandoned Pets

If you do not collect your pet within 7 days of the agreed collection date, and we’ve been unable to contact you or receive a clear update, we may need to arrange rehoming.

  • Extra boarding days will be charged at the daily rate and must be paid on collection.

Cancellations & Amendments

  • If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible.

  • Deposits are non refundable.

  • Cancellations within 14 days of the booking may be charged in full due to limited availability and reserved accommodation.

  • Where possible, we will always try to refill cancelled spaces and may offer a refund if we are able to rebook the accommodation.

  • If you're delayed and require extra days, we’ll try to accommodate where possible  standard daily rates apply.

  • No refunds will be given for early collection.

Fighting / Bonded Pets

If your bonded pets begin fighting during their stay, we will contact you straight away.

  • Whenever possible, we will split our accommodation to house them separately at no extra cost to you.
